By Plane
Below is information about convenient airports for reaching the campus (IMPCAS, Huizhou : 中国科学院近代物理研究所惠州研究部):
A. Huizhou Pingtan Airport: This domestic airport serves the city of Huizhou and is located in the town of Pingtan, Haiyang District. It is approximately 30 km away from the campus. It will cost approx. CNY 80 and take 40 minutes if you take a taxi or online ride-hailing service.
B. Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport: Situated on the east bank of the Pearl River in Bao'an District, this airport is approximately 110 km away from the campus, with an estimated travel time of about 2 hours by a car.
Coach service from the Shenzhen airport to Huizhou is available. The ticket counter and the passenger pick-up location are both near the Gate 17 on the second floor of the Ground Transportation Center (GTC). The coach service operates from 8:20 to 21:00, with buses departing every 50 minutes. The ticket price is 80 CNY. Click here to see more details (Service Tel: +86 0755-88895000). After the arrival at the Terminus (Huizhou Bus Terminal, 惠州汽车总站)，you can then take a taxi or use a ride-hailing service to reach the campus (9 km, ~17 minutes, ~20 CNY).
Alternatively, you can take a taxi or use a ride-hailing service directly from Shenzhen Airport to the campus, which will cost CNY 200 - 400 (additional pay around 50 CNY for highway is also needed). Please note that it may be not easy (especially at night) to find a driver willing to travel to Huizhou, because it is a relative long journey and (1) for the taxi driver, he/she is not allowed to return to Shenzhen with passengers from Huizhou, (2) for the ride-hailing driver, he/she may have difficulty to find passengers to return to Shenzhen.
C. Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport: Located around 160 km away from the campus, it takes approximately 2.5 hours to reach the campus from this airport by car.
Coach service (Baiyun Airport Express Line）directly from the Baiyun airport to Huizhou is available. The locations of the passenger pick-up points and ticket counters are shown as the following (Service Tel: +86 020-36063156)：
The coach service operates from 9:40 to 19:40, with buses departing about every 2 hours. The ticket price is 110 CNY. Click here to find more details. You can get off at the terminus of Dongping(东平), Huizhou or Jiangbei (江北), Huizhou (Sometimes the bus do not go to Dongping and only go to Jiangbei). Then you can take a taxi or online ride-hailing service to reach the campus (From Donging, 10 km, 17 minutes,~20 CNY; From Jiangbei, 15 km, 30 minutes,~30 CNY).
Alternatively, you can take a taxi or use a ride-hailing service directly from Guangzhou Airport to the campus, which will cost CNY 300 - 500 (additional pay around 90 CNY for highway is also needed). Please note that it may be not easy (especially in the night) to find a driver willing to send you to Huizhou, because it is a relative long journey and (1) for the taxi driver, he/she is not allowed to return to Guangzhou with passengers from Huizhou, (2) for the ride-hailing driver, he/she may have difficulty to find passengers to return to Guangzhou.
D. Hong Kong International Airport: Approximately 130 km away from the campus. Coach services to Huizhou are available at the Mainland/ Macao Transport Centre of Hall A of Arrivals Level (L5), Terminal 1. The ticketing point is Counter M01-M05. Here, you can take a bus, such as the Eternal East (永東) Bus (Counters M05, Service Tel: +852 2261 2566), from Hong Kong International Airport to HuiZhou Jinluan Hotel (惠州金銮酒店) (cost CNY ~250). The Eternal East Bus operates from 8:30 to 20:00, with buses departing every hour. Note: Please check visa requirements for Hong Kong from your country before scheduling your trip via Hong Kong.
By train
The city is served by three mainline railway stations situated near the downtown area: Huizhou Railway Station, Huizhou North Railway Station, and Huizhou South Railway Station..
A. Huizhou North Railway Station (惠州北站), Baishi Road, Huicheng District (惠城区白石路). Serves high-speed trains, about 26 km far from the campus.
From the Huizhou North Railway Station, one can take the taxi, that will cost approx. CNY 60.
B. Huizhou Railway Station (惠州站), 57 Huizhou Avenue, Huicheng District (惠城区惠州大道57号). Serves regular-speed trains, about 19 km far from the campus.
From the Huizhou Railway Station, one can take the taxi, that will cost approx. CNY 45.
C. Huizhou South Railway Station (惠州南站), Huicheng District (惠城区). Serves high-speed trains, about 9 km far from the campus.
From the Huizhou South Railway Station, one can take the taxi, that will cost approx. CNY 25.
By Bus
The primary bus station, known as the Huizhou Coach(or Bus) Terminal, offers regular bus services to various destinations, including Guangzhou and Shenzhen, as well as to numerous other cities within the province.
Tips:
If you decide or have to take a taxi to the campus, please print and present the following message to the driver:
“师傅您好！请送我到惠州市惠城区河南岸新桥北路1号（中国科学院近代物理研究所惠州研究部）。谢谢！”
"Hello, could you please take me to No.1 Xinqiao North Road, Henanan Block, Huicheng District, Huizhou City (Huizhou Research Department of Institute of Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences)? Thank you."
It would be quite helpful if you can use DiDi Ride-Hailing Services of Alipay and WeChat when you need to call a taxi or use online ride-hailing service.
