The 13th International Conference on Direct Reactions with Exotic Beams DREB2026

Shenzhen, China, Nov 1st-6th, 2026

The 13th International Conference on Direct Reactions with Exotic Beams (DREB2026) will be held in Shenzhen, China, from November 1st to 6th, 2026. This DREB conference is part of a biennial series that began in 1999 at MSU, East Lansing, at the initiative of physicists from MSU, IPN-Orsay, and FSU.

Previous meetings in this series were held in: Orsay (2001); Guildford (2003); East Lansing (2005); Wako (2007); Tallahassee (2009); Pisa (2012); Darmstadt (2014); Halifax (2016); Matsue (2018); Santiago de Compostela (2022); Wiesbaden (2024).

The scientific program will focus on the latest experimental and theoretical research and developments in nuclear reactions with exotic nuclei. Topics will include:

·         Spectroscopy, shapes and shell evolution in exotic nuclei as seen through direct reactions

·         Probing the nuclear force and short-range correlations through direct reactions

·         Theoretical developments and advances in direct reaction theory

·         Nuclear astrophysics

·         New instrumentation for direct reaction studies of exotic nuclei

·         Ab initio methods for structure and reactions away from stability

·         Clustering phenomena probed by nuclear reactions

In keeping with the tradition of this conference series, the meeting will have a relatively informal character, and no proceedings will be published. The program will primarily consist of contributed presentations and posters, selected from submitted abstracts. The program will be supplemented by a small number of invited or keynote talks.

The conference will focus on new results, particularly those that have not yet been published. We strongly encourage students and other junior researchers to participate.
